Often it’s hard to start healthy style and healthy habits. Even I admit that in the past, I used to eat more junk food as sometimes people say that the less healthier could be the tastier food. However life is short and to start little responsibility in life also could mean following the right lifestyle in eating. Therefore, the last five years I start to eat much less junk food to “better” food for health. Let me share 🙂
Never skip breakfast as it could disturb the system of our metabolism. So, instead of eating heavy breakfast with too much carb in the morning, I eat fruits with either yogurt or low fat milk (cow milk or soy milk) with more calcium to start the day.
My Favourite fruits to begin my morning are usually Kiwi or banana or apple to give the right energy for my day. If not fruits, sometimes I would also rotate them with oatmeal with milk or yogurt as a good change.
The perfect lunch would be eating the right amount of carbohydrate with the right amount of protein and fiber. Usually I consume around 100 grams of carbs at lunch like rice or pasta (as I live in Italy 😀 so I simply can’t skip it haha). But sometimes I also eat bread and Asian pasta like rice noodles and soy pasta.
Then for the protein, my favourite ones are low fat cheese and white meat like poultry and seafood. I honestly choose to eat seafood and poultry mostly than red meat like beef, lamb or even pork for healthy and personal reasons.
And to complete, I also love eatings more vegetables to provide other type of fiber in addition to the fruits that I consume daily. The vegetables I pick are various from the green ones like spinach, cabbage to the other type of veggies like carrot. Additionally, I also love to eat olive and tomatoes that are considered more as fruits 🙂
Moreover, I’m also a mushroom lover. Mushrooms are nutritious food that have been proven to help boosting our immune system, provide natural great carb and protein plus to protect us from many diseases including cancer and give us natural vitamins and minerals (I’ll write more in separated post).
For my dinner, I simply repeat my breakfast style…. Yes, I normally don’t eat heavy dinner, unless it is during yearly important holidays like New Year or during my trips to celebrate with family, relatives and friends
To add, during my whole day, I also consume natural Chinese Oolong or Pu-Erh Tea OR Japanese Green Tea to accompany my days 🙂 In addition, I usually also consume natural and traditional herbal drinks that I prepare myself (I’ll talk about them more in future posts)
To finish, maybe what’s missing from my habit is healthy exercise. But so far, I walk my dog three times a day in a duration of 15 minutes each at least. So at least, I walk daily and routinely around 45 mins at minimum haha 😀
