Yesterday was the Chinese New Year’s eve, which was the change from the Snake Year to the Horse Year. From today, January 31, the year for Chinese calendar has become the year of horse.
People say that Chinese eat a lot of pork and duck. And that’s not wrong at all. For example, for Chinese New Year meal and dishes, there are so many tasty duck and pork dishes to serve and prepare such as Cantonese Roast Duck, Peking Duck, Sweet and Sour Pork, etc.
But, they also eat chicken and fish dishes like Kung Pao Chicken, Steamed Whole fish (that represents for abundant coming year), and noodles like longevity noodles (which are also famous for birthday celebrations for wishing long life and health).
A lot of Chinese dishes come with meaning and are served with good wishes and prayers that hopefully will come true to the eater.
– Happy Chinese New Year for those who celebrate –
