This picture was taken at one of my friend’s favorite Chinese Restaurants in the centre of Milan, near the Duomo (Cathedral) area which now has been my favorite too. In Italian, they call it spaghetti cinese di soia because they recognize any Chinese types of noodles as spaghetti, vermicelli, and tagliatelle (their own types of long pasta).
The dish is called the Cellophane noodles or bean thread noodles that are usually transparent (before being cooked). In this dish, it is stir-fried with various seafood such as squid, mussels, and shrimps. This is my favourite, the bean thread noodles with seafood as I consider it as the “lightest” noodles for digestion with healthy contents such as seafood.
All types of noodles have always been important dishes in Chinese cuisines from a very long time as the originally oldest noodles were from China, which was said like thousands of years before present (BP).
I enjoy noodles a lot, especially the bean thread noodles, do you 😉
